Pill May Help Prevent HIV

A new study has shown the Aids pill, Truvasa, may help prevent the spread of HIV, along with the use of condoms, and counseling. The pill taken with those precautions cut the risk by 44%, and when used faithfully showed a cut in risk of up to 73%. These results are for gay males, with further studies involving females still incomplete. The pills are expensive in the U.S., costing between $5,000 to $14,000 a year. In poorer countries the pill can be bought for as little as 39 cents in generic form. If that was me, and I was a gay male, I would seriously consider moving. At least until health insurance steps up.
