World Series MVP Released

The MVP of the World Series, Edgar Renteria, has been released by the San Francisco Giants. The team decided to exercise a buyout in his contract for $500,000 rather than pay him $9 million for next year. This marks the second year in a row the World Series MVP has been released by his team. Last year the Yankees released Hideki Matsui shortly after the World Series. If that was me, and they wanted to hand me that trophy, I would politely pass it on to someone else.
